Dilating Doubts

So the past week I got kinda worried, cause after I dilated I felt like I had to urinate. So I was paranoid that I was dilating my urethra. So I was trying to figureout where my urethra is (by using a mirror when I peed) but It was hard for me to tell exactly where it was coming from. Ive seen pictures online of the position of the urethra but I can't see a pronounced little hole where my urethra would be. There are also all the folds to the side of my vagina which create things that look like they might be holes, but they seem bigger than I would expect my urethra would be. So I went to the doctor to see if I was doing things right, and they said that I was, and that my urethra was the opening right above my vagina...but I still can't really see any opening there. Oh well.

Better News

Well I went to the doctor today, and he told me that now I don't have to wear a dilator 24/7, I only have to wear it at nite. Also, I am going to start to begin dilating with a tapered candle, because we didn't want to have to pay for the expensive set of dilators since I only need to add like 4 more cms. At least now I can start running again, yay. Hopefully the dilating with the candle won't be too bad. If anyone has any dilation tips, feel free to post them.

Update

Well Its been over a week since my second surgery. I have gotten more used to wearing the dilator 24/7 and have started to drive. This week I am actually leaving the house and going to visit some of my friends for a few days. On Friday I have a doctors appointment, and should have some more news on what the next plan of action will be. I'm pretty sure that I will be using harder dilators to try to stretch out some of the scar tissue that the Vecchietti Procedure didn't get through, instead of the softer dilator I have been wearing all the time.

Long Road

So I haven't posted in awhile because I've been sort of depressed. I had my second surgery on Saturday to remove all the sutures used for the Vecchietti instrument thing. Turns out that the Vecchietti Procedure wasn't as effective as hoped, because I have alot of scar tissue. So turns out, I have to wear a dilator at all times for 4-6 weeks. Then after that, use a larger dilator to expand my vagina more. I hate wearing a dilator, it feels very uncomftorable to me, especially to walk. So I've basically just been sitting around. I'm just really tired of everything, and I'm tired of feeling so alone during this entire thing.

Small Complications

So, I went to the doctors today to get the Vecchietti instrument thingy off. Well small problem. Apparently during the lengthening process, part of my vagina in the middle is thinner than the opposite ends of it..so its shaped sort of like an hour glass. The "olive" or bead or whatever that was used to lengthen my vagina couldn't be pulled out without a whole lot of pain because of this. So I have surgery scheduled for tomorrow to get that removed and so the doctor can take a mold of my vagina as it is, and get some dialotors to fix the part of my vagina that is narrow. Hopefully that will work.

Mixed Blessing

I was just thinking about how the lack of a period due to MRKH is an interesting problem. While I am glad to never have to deal with a period or pms, it's also a sort of coming of age thing and womenly bond that I missed. I lived in a house of girls in college and had other friends who would share embarrasing period stories, or commisterate about pms, and all I could do is kind of smile and nod. I guess I should be glad. But I'm sure my roomates found it odd that I never bought tampons.
